Curriculum
The curriculum for beginners is based on concepts presented in Faber and Faber Piano Adventures series. Supplementary books by pedagogical composers are also used to expand reading skills and provide fun, interesting and motivational music.
The curriculum for intermediate and advanced students is based on traditional classical music from the four historical periods. A wide variety of music is used, including sonatinas, single composer collections and multi-composer collections.
Private Instruction
Private lessons are tailored to each student's age, level, and goals. Instruction emphasizes the development of pianism and musicianship through carefully planned, leveled curriculum, with a strong focus on sight reading and rhythm. Lessons aim to build confidence, technique, and a lifelong love of music in a supportive studio environment.
30- minute lessons
Appropriate for young beginners, 30-minute lessons introduce foundational skills in a fun, focused setting. Students learn basic technique, note reading, rhythm, and musical expressions through age-appropriate materials and activities.
45- minute lessons
Designed for late elementary through intermediate students, 45-minute lessons allow for deeper exploration of technique, repertoire, theory, and sight reading. This format supports steady musical growth and developing independence at the piano.
60-minute lessons
Perfect for advanced students. 60-minute lessons offer extended time to refine artistry, explore challenging repertoire, and strength overall musicianship through intensive, individualized instruction.
Voice Lessons
Voice lessons are offered on a case-by-case basis for students preparing for auditions, performances, or special events. Instruction focuses on healthy vocal technique, musical interpretation, and confident stage presence - tailored to each student's needs and goals.
During the introductory meeting, beginning students will be introduced to piano lessons and the structure of the studio. Transfer students will be evaluated on their current playing ability, sight reading, and rhythmic skills. The parent and teacher will also take time to discuss the studio program, curriculum, goals, instrument requirements, and policies to ensure a strong start and a good fit.
